Finished ~ part one

Finally I'm finished with the part of my kitchen redo and I love love love it I'm so happy with the way the the cupboards and curtains turned out, new curtain rod and match stick blinds

But most of all ... I'm in love with my new ( old ) table. This table was given to me in trade for some slipcover work that I did for a friend but it was in it original garage sale condition, not very pretty until My friends Claire and Shannon from the ThehogShed Transformed it into the beautiful show piece!

They started by painting the legs and apron in the same color as my trim and cupboards then they stained and sealed the top of the table to match my hardwood flooring I LOVE IT

Soo Pretty I'm so lucky to have such talented Friends!!

this is the other side of my island thingie with its new painted cupboards and a long awaited new dishwasher

and my new favorite picture that sweet hubby bought for my while we were away celebrating out 23rd anniversary.

Its works perfectly with the new look
Now on to the rest of the kitchen.
Thanks for stopping have a great week

Working on my Home for Spring

Well, here are a couple of before picture of my spring projects I am in the proses of redoing the dinning room right now and I will be carrying this project into the kitchen thought the summer
with the biggest project that I've tackled in a long time I'm painting my kitchen cupboards!!!

Yup I'm finally doing it. I've wanted to do this since we moved in 7 years ago but I know how big a project it was going to be. I thought that with the cost of the new hardware that I wanted that I just couldn't justify changing out perfectly good although VERY UGLY hardware. But thanks to blog land and great blogger that give out resources
I was able to find affordable hardware and I will be sharing my after photo's and resources with in the next week or two

I'm really looking forward to a nice new kitchen, I will be painting the kitchen in sections because of the size of the project there is just no way that I could do it all at once and keep a functioning home. So sections it will be.

Thanks for stopping

A Spring Project Finished

One down and about a zillion to go. A before shot of the bathroom... I changed it up a bit with some fresh paint and new colors, soft and fresh. here is the after shot I love the soft gray blue of the new towels and rug.

A spring time Birdie along with a couple of other things I found around the house.

A little bit of California in the bath too.

and this is what started the whole thing New Hardware! I love it and am so happy with it.
I was really just using my bath as a practice project after purchasing some hardware for the Kitchen redo ( painting the cupboards and changing out all the hardware ) I wanted to make sure I got the right stuff before I ordered the whole mess for the kitchen.

Have a great rest of the week

I Found a couple of minutes to get a personal project done this weekend yahoo! My School House Tunic top from Sew Liberated I have to say I love this pattern. It was so easy to put together and the fit was right on! This is just some clearance fabric that I picked up to kinda practice the pattern with. I did wear it out on Saturday night and really enjoyed it

I'm looking forward to making another one of these.

Just for practice... Lately I've been wanting to put together Clothing needing a new robe I looked threw my very small stack of patterns and fond one for a robe and one for some very simple drawstring pants. not really wanting to spend money on fabric I looked threw what I had for fabric humm... light weight and pretty I found an old linen table cloth that I purchased at
a garage sale a while ago ... a robe and pj pants were born I had made this robe before and it was huge so I was working on adjusting the pattern so that it wouldn't fit me like one of those "snuggie" things I cut the pattern down and pleated the front and back. fits better than the first one I made but still not super happy with it

I also finished my first KAL ( knit a Long) that I found at kris knits blog
have a great weekend
